Hi, i have a cheap Nutone bath exhaust in my bathroom (60 sq. ft. w/8 ft. ceiling) and i don't think it's working that well. After the 4 of us are done taking showers the ceiling is soaked! It's a small 70 cfm nutone from HD. Anyway the housing is around 15" x 8 1/2". I've been trying to locate an exhaust 100 cfm or more to fit in that opening and not having much luck for under $200.
So my newb question of the day is this. How do i patch about 5" of the length of the hole with drywall? There is no stud above. I only need to fill in about 5" x 8 1/2" to make way for a new square bath exhaust.
And the bathroom was just repainted too so i really didn't want to get into cutting a big square to the studs.
