Is this a fire hazard and how bad?

I have a dresser at the end of my bed. I want to put a tv on it. I then will run an extension cord under a sheet that sits on the side of the boxspring. The cord will not be under any compression as it will be on side of boxspring but it will be under a fitted sheet. The bed sits on the floor. Thanks.

Yeah, that's a bad idea. Discussing how unsafe something is makes as much sense as discussing how pregnant ones wife, girlfriend daughter etc. is. They make cord covers http://cableorganizer.com/cord-covers/ . That would be a better plan. Of course the best plan would be to properly install an electrical outlet where it is needed.

If you use a heavy duty extension cord, and the cord doesn't undergo constant bending / twisting / pulling, then it will pose a very minor fire risk.

Good luck.

Not worth the risk.
