Filling the cracks?

I am moving out of an apartment and looking for a proper way to fill the holes in the walls left by nails, screws, etc. Any thoughts on the best way to do it?

Filling the cracks?

Get a small container of spackling compound and a small plastic putty knife. Fill and lightly sand the places. The spackle is generally a one coat solution for small fixes as opposed to multiple coats of joint compound...
