Question

Fiber Cement Siding

My home has fiber cement siding and I want to screw an address plaque on it. The sign comes with 2 smallish screws but I don't want to split the siding. Any suggestions?

Fiber Cement Siding

sure! predrill holes and use plastic anchors such as used for cement block, should hold it fine and not split.

DM advice is good. not much weight. You may actually be fine with just a pilot hole and wood screw. If you have the anchors the do that. If you don't just use the screws and then give a tug, if it doesn't seem secure then get the anchors.

Don't breath the dust when you drill it. It's likely to be loaded with asbestos.

What? Fiber cement siding does not contain asbestos.

Good point, the OP never mentioned if it was Hardi or the like.

Fiber Cement Siding

My previous house had the same siding, with asbestos. You can silicon a couple beads and tape it in place until it sets up, or just use double sided heavy duty tape. Don't drill holes because it can crack the panels. Dorf Dude...
