fan blades on daewoo freezer

hello,
has anyone had experience of changing the freezer fan in a daewoo side by side fridge freezer.
i cant work out how to release the blades, they seem to just slide onto the rotor arm and released by easing off a cuff that squeezes the shaft of the blade hub.i'm reluctant to resort to brute force.
any ideas?:
