Fall, the season for SPAM

I think they have something similar - we just don't get to play with it.

When do we get the results of the anti spam contest? I could use that trip to Grand Caymen about now

We don't have that here. Got it at another site I'm a mod at, and it is nice, only 2 steps. Of course, here its only 3 steps, so not a big deal.

then again, here I can delete and ban multiple spammers at 1 time, with spamomatic you can't do that, I did 5 spammers at one time this morning.

Do you allow new users to post immediately? On the other forum I am at, new users must have two approved posts before the general public can see them instantly. They could post 50 times but until a mod approves two of them none of them can be seen.

If you think the mods are busy now? That would really tax them....but....it might be an option.....

Maybe they could add some "Jr Mods"....one for each board that could review new members 1st post...and then flag those that look suspecious.....

I think we all have a vested interest in keeping the spammers off here....

One of the newer methods....

Newbi posts a question about something...

Another newbi comes along saying he tried the same thing and raves about how wonderful it is....

A 3rd newbi comes along....saying he has been using said product for some time....

Funny...they all joined that day....what are the odds.....I flagged it....and was right...all had the same IP address.

It's so much fun.....

I almost enjoy the spam hunt more than reading the 'normal' posts...
