Exterior Caulking Suggestions for painted trim to vinyl windows?

Any personal suggestions or experiences for best caulk to use on Vinyl windows trimmed out with painted LP Smart Trim? I know I don't want to use Silcone since I want it to be paintable. I am using Vulkem 116 on the hardi plank siding, would anyone suggest using this on the window trim as well?

Exterior Caulking Suggestions for painted trim to vinyl windows?

I’ve always used Vuklem until a few years ago when I started getting a few call backs because the Vulkem was breaking free from the vinyl windows after a season or two. Other contractors if my area were noticing the same thing. Don’t know why, never had that problem in the past.

Now just about everyone I know has switched to Quad and has not had anymore problems.

I still use Vulkem, it’s a buck a tube cheaper and sticks to everything else just fine, but I'm using Quad on the windows.

The only time I ever use silicone is when the caulking has to be clear.
