Electrical/Drywall

If you have happened to cover up an electrical outlet with some drywall, is there any way to find the outlet?

Electrical/Drywall

if the sheet rock hangers did it, I usually find a big hammer does the trick. Liberally applied to the wall in a non-distinct pattern usually results in the rockers finding the box after about my second hit.

If it is my fault, there are several things that will help.

do have an idea where it is? the box will cause a bulge in the rock. It also makes a hard spot where the box is.

Find your stud spacing and locate other outlets in the series. The hidden outlet is probably somewhat equal spaced and attached to a stud between other outlets?

For next time, this system saves a lot of time.
