Generally, in the US, electric heat is the most expensive option to operate. And there are areas where power supply is not all that reliable.

i have a 2000sft home and ended up taking out my electric furnace and putting in gas. i think electric is one of the most expensive ways to heat.

Have you looked into the option of a heat pump system as well? It will heat and cool your house during the seasons. It would help to know your location.

Proper maintenance will help you avoid many common furnace problems. Before you start your furnace troubleshooting, make sure that you have performed the suggested maintenance. Ensure that the thermostat is on heat and the setpoint is above room temperature.Nice information.
