easy kitchen faucet install question

I installed a new faucet and everything is great except the actual faucet is loose. Iíve circled the problem in the attached photo. The nut holding whatever the rubber part is to the sink will tighten to a point and then let go. It never gets tight enough to give the faucet a tight feel when handling it. How do I rectify this?

If the nut is popping loose then you either stripped the nut or the threaded shaft---

Either replace the nut or the faucet---not good--sorry.--Mike---

If it's the shaft you might be able to add washers or a spacer to avoid the damaged area.

Are you sure you used all the parts in the correct order? It's hard to over tighten those nuts so close to the hose.

Can you try removing the shaft, and reversing it?

As I recall that faucet comes with a plastic wrench to tighten that nut----I wonder if the wrench split and pops open --failing to actually turn the nut.
