Dry wall or cement board? Or both?

Hi I'm new to the site, we have a very tiny kitchen and my husband just took off the tile on both walls. We plan to do a faux tin tile backspalsh along 1 wall where the sink and stove are. Question is do we use cement board or regular dry wall.

Everyday garden variety drywall will work.

Cement board is genreally used only in wet areas like around the tub.

Those two messages right there are two of the most intelligent messages I have seen on here in a while. Good idea guys.

I've been following 21 and his nonsense and needed some reality for a change.
