Door hinge coming loose from wall

My front door is coming loose from the hinge on the wall. I'm looking for a simple solution because I really don't feel like replacing the jam. Also, is there something better than putting a longer and larger diameter screw in? Thanks for the help.

You could drill a hole, sized for say 3/8" doweling, insert dowel with glue, let dry, and then rescrew hinge.

That is, by far, the easiest and best way to make the repair. Much better than simply pounding a golf "T" or sliver of wood in the hole. Also, consider using a good hardwood dowel. It will hold a lot better than something like pine or fir.

You want screws about 2-1/2 inches or maybe 3 inches, long enough to go all the way through the door jamb and into the stud deeper in.

This only works with the holes set deeper into the jamb. The others just hit sheetrock or plaster.
