As a DIYer, whats been your experience dealing with inspectors?


I've found that if my work looks like I took the time to do it well then the inspector will give me a lot more slack. If your DIY work looks sloppy then the inspector is automatically going to think you skimped in some areas, or simply don't know what you are doing. If you take the time to make it look like a pro did it then the inspector will have more faith in your abilities and your attention to detail.

My experience is nice with policemen.
