My dish washer is not properly draining. I noticed this morning as I was emptying dishes that the bottom is covered with water. I took the assembly and the mesh basket at the bottom out to see if that was the problem, but it wasn't. Any suggestions on how to fix this would be appreciated. Thanks ahead of time.
I bought a new washer once upon a time because of the same problem. When installing the new washer I discovered the drain hose was kinked. Gave the washer away to a young newly married couple that needed one.
Might check that hose before making the mistake I did.
Need to know the type of dishwasher. Some of them have a small mesh screen over the pump inlet deep inside which gets plugged up with hair, lint, solid waste and other crud.
My old whirpool was good for that. It didn't matter what kind of dish prerinse you did, that screen would eventually plug.
How is it plumbed; Directly to the drain or through a garbage disposal. Try the simplest thing first remove drain hose and see if it's clogged. Not saying that's the problem just ruling things out.
Some pictures of how it's plumbed would help. Thanks.
I you think you may have a clog, make a mixture of baking soda and vinegar, put it in the screen, let it sit for around a min. and then flush with hot water.
