Dirt pouring onto my floor

Hey guys, I'd appreciate some help or another pair of eyes as I haven't run into this one before. So i just removed cabinets b/c they were old and I knew there were issues behind the counter b/c I kept seeing claw marks on my baseboard.. well apparently there was a large hole there and dirt appears to be pouring in.. Do I just clean it up and call it a day or...?

Here's a video .. thank you for your time.

What is on the other side of that wall, is that a crawl space? I would clean the dirt up and try to see where it is coming from, there is no way for us to tell from the video, at least not myself.

I am dreadfully sorry to be the one to inform you of this dire situation. Acording to a book I just read.

Your or your neighbours's cat is plotting to kill you.

He likes to hide in dark places so he can study you in your natural habitat

There are likely other signs that you may have overlooked...that dead bird he just brought you...it is NOT a gift. It is a warning !!

Kneading his paws on you?? You may think this is a sign of affection but he is actually checking your internal organs for signs of weakness.

Does your cat sprint at light speed out of any room you enter. ? When he does this its actually a failed ambush.

There are more, but I didn't want to send your family into a panic.

On a positive note, that is a lovely musical score that accompanies your video.

Re:

That wall represents the right side of the house - 1890s construction. So for all i know that is old insulation that has distinigrated possiby. The exterior is old mill stone w/ what should have been a lathe aand plaster wall.

Lord knows some creature was having a good time back there,, i'm tempted to fill w/ rocks and concrete, then call it a day. I'll post more pictures when i get it cleaned up. thanks

Sounds like maybe a critter has made a nest. No do not just cover it up you need to find out where it came from. Can't see the vid it comes up "private".

I think you need to strip that entire wall down to the studs and see exactly what is happening.

Is the floor there, Above outside grade, or below,..??

Man, that video was really exciting, and what a great soundtrack. I was waiting for you to put the camera and light on a stick and put it through that hole...

So is this an exterior wall partially below grade? Can you do some digging on the outside to see what it looks like there?
