I was killing time on the internet and ran across this. I think they are cool. I know you like wood projects. Thought maybe this might be something you might be able to emulate.

Wow, I bet that is some high dollar bathroom fixtures, they are pretty though. Any of those would take a while to make.

Yeah, DM: Isn't that the story of most of us--- IF WE ever finish what WE are working on then WE can do another project? That's what keeps some of us going. David

I believe that is probably correct in this situation. If you read much of the site, you might have noticed this:

Quote:
Nearly the entire production including a final shape cut requires a craftsman’s skill, so the whole process takes up to 12 weeks.
anytime somebody tells you a "craftsman" and his skill is making their product, you can usually figure it is expensive.

I don't know how they actually do it but I was trying to figure out a manufacturing process for exactly this type of product. It was probably 20 years ago. The manufacturing process, in my method, it really quite simple, but that's a story for another day. I never brought the idea to fruition so I am not in the business of making wood lavs or tubs.

after seeing this, maybe I will restart my idea. I really love the look of their products.

from what I read on their site, I'm not sure they answered the final finish concerns I had. Anybody have a great idea for a finish that would be durable and simple to apply?

I would guess they press the hell out of them after laminating, several tons in a heat press.

Some kind of sprayed and baked on polymer for the finish. Yep, out of my range!

Very artistic.
