Cutting a glass mirror

I just put tile on the walls in my bathroom. There was a large mirror in the bathroom. I want to put that mirror back where it was. Only problem is it's about 11 inches too long. A friend told me that you can get a mirror cut. Is that true? Could I do it myself?

You can cut it yourself, but you would also have to sand the edge down so it isnt razor sharp. I would bring it somewhere (your local glass shop) to have it cut if possible.

Here is a simple instruction:

If you do try it yourself make sure you wear leather gloves when snapping it (you probably wont be able to snap it like the video shows your first time, especially since your mirror is probably 1/4" thick).

BE CAREFUL, glass is no joke and will easily cut you to your bone in a split second before you even know what happened.

You need to call around, since everyone's town has different companies that quote different prices. No way of knowing, until you do the 411.
