Cutting board counter top seal

I put two surface island with a butcher block counter top and granite. Any ideas on how to seal the seams where the granite meets the end-grain wood countertop? I know its needs to be flexible bc of the expansion/contraction of the wood but the debate is: Silicone? Nothing just template the granite to go right up next to it.

Nothing is installed yet except of the cabinets.
