Creaky/squeaky bed. Repair or replace?

Hope this is the right place to be asking. I searched the forum for similar topics but didn't come up with much. Anyway, here's my problem:

My bed is creaks. A LOT. Any time I shift position in the slightest it makes noise, let alone when I've got someone else in it. It's a cheap metal frame that I've had for years. As far as I can tell every joint in the thing makes noise. I've tightened it up to the point that if I tighten the bolts any more it causes the frame to bend inwards.

So I guess I just want to know if it's worth drenching the thing in WD-40, or trying anything else, or if I should just straight up replace it.

Try the wd-40 first... please. But it won't work. Try some thin rubber pads between metal parts, cut up an inner tube, poke holes for bolts. Pads under washers under bolt heads and nuts. Rubber feet on legs. Padding under box springs.
See if that quietens your bed usage.

EDIT: The rubber, not ditching it haha hope it doesn't come to that. Roses are expensive.

biker, does anybody even have box springs any more. Seems all I see are just boxes, with fancy names, mattress support platform system, engineered mattress support system, chiroprater approv...

Talcum powder....or baby powder.

How is the bed made? Is it the typical headboard with side rails that clip in? Or is it a metal bed frame that bolts to the head board?

You basically need to figure out which parts are squeaking.

My wife and I used to have that problem....then we had 3 kids....bed does not squeak any more....
