Crawl Space Insulation
I have a newly constructed house with hard wood flooring. I want to put the insulation in crawl space with the moisture barrier down because it looks neater that way. If I do it this way rather than putting the moisture barrier up next to the flooring, will it cause the hardwood floor to curl, etc.? thanks

You really need to read through the info at To answer your question, you can either spray foam the flooring underneath. You do need to place a vapor barrier on the ground, if it is not poured concrete, and has not had rock put down yet. Use at least a 12mil black plastic barrier on the ground, then place river rock over it. Also, make sure that the space has the proper vents, that close during colder temps automatically.

The other thing to do, is seal any penetrations into the living space with either caulk or DAP foam, before insulating.

You don't have your location listed, so nobody knows how to tell you to insulate. Insulation and vapor management are much different in Canada than in Florida. Insulation and vapor barrier needs to be installed for function, not for appearance. Is the crawlspace conditioned? Is it vented? Install the vapor barrier on the wrong side and you'll end up with moisture, mold, rot, cupped flooring, any or all of the above.

Why do you care what the crawlspace looks like? You aren't going to entertain guests down there... I agree with the above comments, especially the web link from gregz.
Around here, we seal up crawlspaces and create conditioned space as if it were a basement. This means insulating/air-sealing on the exterior walls and sill boxes in the crawlspace, as opposed to insulating floor.
