Craftsman Snow Blower Auger Problem

I have a Craftsmen 24" 2-stage snow blower, model 247.886640, SN 1I083B40407, about 6 years old. It looks to be the same as an MTD blower as many of the parts cross-reference to MTD. Apparently the auger gearbox has been damaged, as I can turn the augers by hand, but the impeller shaft doesn't turn, and the shear bolts are good. Question is how do I disassemble the auger assembly to remove/replace the gearbox? Do I need to remove the roll pins connecting the impeller to the shaft? If so, do I need to remove the housing to get to them? I have the parts breakdown, but I'm stuck at getting the thing off. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

It looks to me as though you need to remove the 3 bolts holding the outside auger bearings in place. It also looks as though there are two roll-pins in the impeller. Remove those and the auger, gearbox, and impeller shaft should pull out the front.

This site might do you some good.
