Craftsman Combination Nailer/Stapler
I have a Craftsman Combination Nailer/Stapler- model# 351.184540. It fires, but the piston ram assembly gets hung up and only partially returns to it's starting position. It won't shoot staples or nails unless I manually lift the Piston Ram Assembly to the starting position, every time. Can someone tell me what is wrong and what needs to be done to fix it. I have already replaced the Nose and the Nose Plate, to no avail.

Wrong brand of staples, needs to be oiled, moisture in the line. It could be a numer of those factors.

Thanks gregzoll.
The Staples and nails are for that model Craftsman stapler and it is well oiled. When I had it apart, there are no visible signs of moisture. Do you know if there's anything else that could cause the problem....maybe something that would wear, that might need replacing? |

Craftsman Combination Nailer/Stapler
Mechanical devices do wear out, and some cheaper units have been known to use plastic parts. Personally, Craftsman tools are nothing like they used to be in the past, and the quality has gone downhill.
