Crack in garage wall

I have a cement wall garage- which on one side has a vertical crack running from ceiling to floor -which also goes through to the outside. The lower portion of our house is also cement lined.

Its a brand new house and we've lived there a year and am not sure whether this is a serious defect and am not sure what to do about it.

any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks, Tina

Call the builder. You should have a warranty. This could grow to a serious issue if not corrected ASAP.

Thanks. The builder actually came by this morning and said he will fill in the crack with sealent for now and then in the spring time he will redo the wall?

Yeah, that will fix it and keep the wall from moving any farther.

Better get THAT in writing!

In fact...better send him a certified letter with a return receipt just to time-stamp his agreement.
