Covering window with ply on aluminum siding

With the storm on it's way (I may be right in the path), just wondering about the best way to attach plywood over the windows of a house that has aluminum siding and has the sides and sill wrapped with aluminum.
All but one window, which is a fairly large picture window have storm windows on the outside. Little worried about the larger window facing east.
So, just lag screws with washers and fill the holes with caulk after the ply comes down or what?
Suggestions welcome.
Thanks.

Now necessarily lag screws, but at least deck size screws(#12).

I'd avoid putting holes in the siding. Leave the windows open a bit top and bottom. Install 2x3'x on the inside accross the window frame. You don't even need to attach the 2x3's to the wall. Attach the plywood to the 2x3's with Timbertech 8" screws. Put the screws high and low enough and you can close the windows almost shut. Not that it matters with the whole window covered.
