Couple pics of my deck....
I read the threads regarding problems with Procell and Trex decking, and I wanted to share these pics.

In 2002 I built this deck and used Evergrain decking.
From what I've read, I'm glad I did.
With the pool, this deck gets a lot of kids spraying lotion, and body prints, etc, and none have lasted.

I pressure washed this deck once last spring, (plain water) hopefully it will keep lasting.

(Excuse the ugly hoses)
Closer view of the decking....

Looking good! Anyone building similar winder stairs, Code requires 10" tread depth at 12" from inside edge radius, those wouldn't pass.... pp.6;

Also at tread/riser, a 6" sphere shouldn't be able to pass, and 6x6 posts for framing;

There is 10" at that point, the pictures are a little deceiving. I originally didn't even have a post there (the one w/the black hinges on it).
The inspector made me put it in for the reason mentioned. Which was a PITA adding afterwards.
I see what you mean about the 6" sphere; Should I have lowered that railing more? Or used longer spindles and have them attach to the step?

6x6 posts would have added a significant increase in costs, not just for the lumber, but the sleeves, caps, and bases as well. I agree, they would have looked great, but I couldn't justify or afford the costs at the time.
Those railings were ridiculously expensive, (Harvey's EverNew) but the maintenance freedom is priceless.

Jealous. Nice deck, and nice space you have there!

Just meant for anyone under the 2006 Deck Code...... The 6" sphere has been Code for some years, to stop babies/toddlers from getting strangled there.
