After recently building a 4000 sq/ft home, I am working on a project to communicate with my Carrier Comfort Zone II system and send the information via WiFi and internet. I have successfully acquired data from the RS-485 communication bus and wrote a Graphical User Interface to capture and parse all the zone room temperatures and set points. My challenge is deciphering the rest of the Comfort Zone II (packet) protocol for commanding or acting as the master controller (zone 1). I am aware that Crestron has software and applications to do this, but, I like the challenge and although their product looks great, it’s a little out of my price range.
