Commercial Grade Windows?

I am currently getting bids on a complete remodel of a house built in 1905. My architect specified Marvin Casement & Double-Hung wood/clad windows throughout. The total cost of these standard size windows comes to over $27,000. I was also able to get a quote on the same windows, but in a commercial grade JeldWen series from 84 Lumber for $13,000. I know nothing about windows, but is there any reason I shouldn't take a look at going with the less expensive ones other than the overall look? Thanks in advance.

Marvin windows seem to be the first choice around here. good quality. Anderson, Pella and some others get good reviews as well.
search the site for more recommendations or problems. i sure hope those prices include the install!!

Go with the Marvin. Its the only window I prefer to install. ( there ultimate Clad Double Hung) another window which is almost exactly like Marven is the Eagle windows. which was bought by Anderson, there prices where cheaper then Marven before Anderson got a hold of them. If you put the Eagle and Marven side by side you could not tell the difference.

Thanks for the input. Please expand on the reasoning. I am guessing there would be less problems down the road because of quality? Again, I don't know anything about windows... just don't want one that leaks, etc. To me, it's easy to compare pieces of glass when one costs less than half of the other. But, I am guessing there is a reason, too?
