I live in Ontario Canada and have an existing sunroom overtop an open carport. There is no heat that goes directly into this sunroom but I could do this easily. The sunrooms 15 windows are old but in good shape single pane wood sash with single pane storm windows on the outside. I was thinking of reinsulating the Sunroom floor with spray insulation and installing new vinyl windows. I use this for a cottage so I am there just on weekends and every other weekend in the winter. Right now I just have this area sealed off.
Am I proceeding in the right direction ?
Will this help with the loss of heat ?
Is it worth the money ?
If it's not heated, new windows and insulation won't make it too much warmer. You'll experience some solar heat gain, but the new windows are made to reduce heat gain through coatings to the glass.
New windows, insulation and heat will do the trick.
