so much for a "free country". the liberals want to take ALL of our rights.
the government is a business. the most unique business in the country. all business's try to get customers. the government "makes" its customers. and they will NEVER have/get enough

the only option you have, is to get a LOT of people to go to town meetings and PITCH A ***** !!!

If you think this type of behavior is limited to one "wing" of the government you are listening to WAY too much talk radio. They're ALL the same, they just package it up differently and make sure you're too busy yelling at the other "side" to notice.

That isn't true. The 'wings' are political parties. One side does control more than the other, I don't see how anyone could deny it. But liberal vs conservative ideologies are not the same thing as party politics.

I'm pretty sure this type of talk is bound to get this thread shut down. But my point was regardless of which party has the power, this kind of thing continues, and everyone will blame it on the party that they don't "belong" to. Liberals will call thsi typical fascism. Conservatives will call it nanny-state-ism or something.

Politicians are all the same. No matter what they tell you they'll do, and how they phrase it to fit in with your political ideologies, they all do the saaaaame crap. You don't become a politician in America unless you're rich and power-hungry, and neither of those things benefit "the people."

Pick whichever politician, local or national, that you think best represents your view. I promise you can find hundreds of things they put into place that are COMPLETELY at odds with who you think they are politically.

It's not politics....it's about a city trying to raise more tax dollars because they are spending more than they bring in.

How many people have actually looked at the budget for their city? How much for Fire, Police, public works? Where do you think they get the money from? Your property taxes.

It's natural evolution that city employee's want a raise....when the city doesn't have the money, they either cut back or raise taxes.

Not much different that what we all do with our home budgets.
