Chain link fence drive through gate
Last fall we removed a portion of our chain link fence to allow delivery of a shed. For the winter I rigged up the fence to enclose the yard but it is a temporary fix.I have purchased a 10' drive through gate to install in the area I removed. My main question is how do I cut the top metal pole down to size? The pole that runs parallel to the ground needs to be cut as I will not need it to go over the gate. I have a circular saw which I have yet to use. Is this acceptable to use in this situation? Should I consider a special blade? Or should I get a different tool?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Also, if you can think of any other hang-ups in my way please let me know. I will be completing this project next Sunday as long as the ground is not frozen.

A hack saw is what you would need to use on that pipe. They are not that expensive at the box stores. You will also need a few other items for the fence.

2 end caps for the pipe to go into on the vertical poles.
2 tension bars for the ends of the fence on each side of the gate.
6 or 8 fence holders that go around the pole to attach tot he tension bars.
2 or 4 hinges for the gate.

Thanks MB. Don't ask me why I didn't think of a hacksaw.

Completed this job last weekend. Not too difficult. It was my first time mixing concrete, not a hard task at all. Now that I have a gate to drive through I can go get the zero turn mower I have been looking at.

Hacksaw worked great.
