Cedar Decking?

Can anyone give some actual hands-on opinions of cedar decking? I do not care for pressure treated decking and the composites that we like are just way to expensive. I also can't find a local source for redwood.

Cedar Decking?

No1,
I can't speak on Cedar as I haven't worked with it.
In 2002 I built this 20' x 20' deck. I hated to; but I'm glad I spent the money for composite decking and plastic-on-aluminum railings. I just took these pics....I've only had to power wash once in 8 years.
It looks like the day I got it done.
The upper deck serves the pool, it's our original (12' x 16') PT deck covered with outdoor carpet.

Cedar Decking?

I just needed a little help in making a decision. Cedar, Redwood, Treated, Composite? I just didn't know but i was leaning toward composite. That stuff is tough.

Anyway, this is the first project for me. I appreciate the info, pictures, and I'll be sure to post mine when I'm finished.

Thanks.
