Camera

I'm looking at getting a Canon A 2500, Staples has it for $120, and Walmart has it for $100.
My question is....should I trust Walmart to buy a camera, I 've heard that places like Walmart have refurbished sub quality items , compared to Staples, Sear , Best Buy,,etc.
Do you think it's the same camera, sounds like a no brainer, but just checking.
Thanks

Make sure in comes in a sealed Canon box with the directions and warranty.

Check the actual part number on the box. Sometimes they will have a R after them if they are refurbished. They should also say somewhere on the package if they are refurbished.

I fairly recently bought a phone and Garmin from Wally World, it was just like any other store except a bit cheaper. I went with them mostly due to the bundled Straight Talk service the others didn't have for the phone.

Sounds like you've heard rumors.

The rumours are true in some cases. Wal-mart is big enough to have special runs of name brand products produced to their own specs. Compare model numbers if you aren't sure.

It is illegal to sell refurbished and not tell the customer.

Canon cameras come in a box clearly labeled as refurbished. In most cases the equipment is better than new because a Canon tech has personally checked the equipment. To insure everything works as new.

If you need more info, check out the POTN (photography on the net) website...huge Canon following. They can answer any questions you have.

Always buy a good quality thing from good shop. Never compromise on quality whether its product or company or shop.

Well I think if you want a good and quality product then you should buy it from canon shop only, because if you are not assure about any other shop then the company's outlet is best option.

Through the years, I have purchased thousands of dollars worth of camera equipment from reputable brick and mortar stores like B&H Photo, Adorama, and Beach Camera. These are stand up companies and not the shady internet companies hiding behind closed doors in New York.

There have been many stories of people getting ripped off by the lure of cheap prices only to discover, they must buy expensive accessories that normally come in the box from Canon such as batteries and chargers.

Hope this helps.
Mike
