Building codes...

What's the best place online to find your local building codes?

Call your Building Department.

Usually I go to the building department of the town that has jurisdiction---

Like already said, you need to contact your local municipality to find what code they use and what version/year they've adopted. You'll also want to ask if there are any sections of the code that they have opted out of. Then you can go on-line to purchase a copy, or sometimes the local library may have it.

Once you've determined which codes apply to your jurisdiction you may be able to find copies on this website. https://bulk.resource.org/codes.gov/
