Building code compliance: remove laundry shut off from bathroom
Building code compliance: remove laundry shut off from bathroom wall. What does that mean? Currently the Laundry room and bathroom share the one of the same walls. The laundry shutoff box is installed on the correct side (the laundry room). So I don't understand this code?

Think your confused, we have no idea what your location is, no idea on what it is your even trying to do, no pictures.
|
Who is requesting this? Is it a home inspector for someone trying to buy your house? Sounds like something they might request.

Did you ask the code guy who cited you? He should be able explain it to you.
|
Tell us what's going on---you will have to ask the code people---
Could it be that you did not mention the work in the permit? Or are missing the floor drain ,if your area requires one? |
Why?? I know of no such code requirement. I've owned more than a couple of homes with the same setup and no code issue.
|
The homeowner does not know why----nor do we---only the code enforcer has a clue---so he is the one that must answer the question----

Here are some photos.
The second photo is from the inside of the bathroom. The black pipe you see is the drain for the laundry box |
I am not seeing a shut off on the bathroom wall.
|
It is in the common wall with the bathroom but on the laundry side of the wall.

Are there any inline, shut-offs for the supply lines in the wall that we can't see - from your pics?
Around here - seen the same set-up - no compliance problem. As stated above - Take your pictures into the Building Dept. and ask the person who wrote this up - what's wrong? rossfingal |
