building an attached garage

I'm thinking about building a 2 car attached garage on my ranch style home. The cement work is completed so I would like to know things to consider.

Wow - rather a vague and wide-ranging question. Obviously you must have some kind of a plan if you have the concrete poured. Can you narrow down your question or ask more specifics?

I'm new at this so forgive me. I recently had this home built but couldn't afford the garage. I had the cement work poured 90 degree to the house. The slab runs 20 ft. alond side the house and 24 ft. out from the house. The back door is 16 ft from the corner. I'll have back door on garage. There will be no window in the garage. I'm wondering about how to remove the overhang to connect to the house

Ah, that helps much. Sounds like a good project.

Do you have the house plan that includes the garage to build to?
End gable, correct?
What is the roofing material?
Was the wall that will ajoin the house to the garage built as a fire rated wall with the plan to add the garage?

Pictures are always a big help in helping folks to help.

I don't have any prints of the house but it was prepped for the garage attached. A ridge beam will be used to connect to the roof of the house to the garage. The roofing material is asphalt shingles on a 12-7 pitch.

Post pictures of the connection point. What will be done depends on the on site construction that currently exists.

After the cement is poured there are still a lot of things to consider.
First thing would be the design, so you should have a look here.
Then you need to consider the different steps and cost to build an attached garage as there might be some steps you could do yourself.
Also make sure you use the right material and reliable contractors.
Allow 15 to 20% extra budget as something costly may turn up.
Finally interior finish is another important step, it depends what you are planning to do in there.Hope this helps.
