I have a split level home with the garage underneath in which my living room is over top of the garage and my floor has a 1" dip in it only above the garage, what can I fo to repair it?
Need a little more information about the house.
Age of building?
Any other evidence of this dip? Such as cracks in the living room wall or ceiling? Cracks in the garage walls? Floor?
Any major renovations done to the house?
Is this an issue that's new? Existing along time?
Are you new to the house?
Ron
The home was built in 1978, it only has some settling cracks under the large beams across the cathedral ceiling, however it was notice with the new carpet was being installed, and it's only about a 12x12 area that has this dip directly center of the 2 car Garage underneath
I would look at the span you have in the garage and the framing members that are there.
My guess is that someone removed supports and the ceiling joists have dropped as a result.

Thanks, I was just in the garage area and noticed the there's a sagg in the tapeline running completely across the center of the garage over the area that's sagging above
