Broken window w/ contact paper

We moved to a house and have a front window and its a bigger window showing our other half of our front yard and front door, the only thing is that is covered with contact paper that is sort of frosty, so you cant see in or out and no sun can come in.

i pulled a corner of it off and scrubbed with rubbing alcohol to get off the stickiness and I want to do the whole thing. I just dont know what i would put over it in the meantime.

dont have any money right now but will in 2 weeks. is there a temporary thing i can do until 2 weeks and i can buy some clear contact paper.
would packaging tape work?

the crack is like a V in the glass.

any suggestions on how i could remove this but still keep the cold out, but let the sunshine in and be able to look outside?

Thanks!

Broken window w/ contact paper

You might try super glue to stabilize the break.
