Brick molding to seal or not?

I have an older house approx. 80yr with the old glass stucco.
There is a brick molding on the bottom and there is a small gap between the stucco/lath and also where the building paper overhangs onto the concrete.

See picture attached, not to scale or anything like that.

I have perry winkle trying to grow up behind the brick molding and I am wondering if I should seal in behind the brick molding against the concrete?

If I seal it should I use caulking or spray foam?

For the most part all the wood is OK behind the brick molding, some small amounts of water damage but nothing severe enough to have to fix.

Would be interesting to see a real picture of what you consider small amounts of damage.

Brick molding to seal or not?

mostly staining, remember that this is an old house with old shiplap.
The brick molding is acting as a drip cap, has a beveled angle to direct the water away.
The question is to seal or not the bottom of the drip cap?
