Blocking particular people?

A member posted some particularly foolish advice and posted a code reference to prove his point. He apparently didn't appreciate my pointing out that he was simply misreading it, and now he is making foolish replies to my posts.
Is there anyway to block him so I don't see his replies?

Not that I'm aware of, just report his post, at some point they get enough bad reports and they get there wrist slapped or get banned.
In the mean time ignore them.
See that exclamation point in the bottom left of there post? That's where you can sent a report.

I understand, some people just have the wrong chemistry together. Good thing you do not have to work with the guy all day, everyday for years.

Put the member on your "Ignore List", pretty simple to do:

Go to "User CP"

Look on the left side, under "Settings & Options"

The last line on the bottom is "Edit Ignore List"

Unfortunately, this will only keep you from seeing what the member is saying, everyone else will still see it.........

Yep. Or you can click their name, click User Lists, then click add to Ignore List.

If someone quotes them, you'll still see it.

Ignore list is a fantastic thing!

I don't have anyone on here on it, but thank god for it on some of my automotive forums.

I see how to do it through the CP, so I have done that.
When I click on a user's name it doesn't give me the option mentioned. Hopefully I won't want to do it again, so maybe it doesn't matter.

BTW, reporting his post seemed petty, so I didn't do it. Apparently someone else did, which is kinda cool.

I have one particular from the electrical forum on it. At least here you cannot see the post from the blocked person, unlike the garbage software avsforum.com uses, the blocked user's posts still show up in the thread, even though they are blocked.

dslreports took theirs a step furyher, and not only does the blocked person not show up in the thread, but if you click their username, you cannot see anything thwy post or anything but their name. They have made it so the blocked person becomes a nobody to you if you wish it that way.

As for the OP about the person handing out what they believe to be incorrct info, just let it go and move on to either answrring others, or ignore what the OP posted.

Keep in mind, this is nothing more than a bunch of round table discussions, and should not take stuff so serious that it eats you up.

You have to go to their profile, and their is a choice in there to place them on an ignore list. You an still see what they posted, if you go to their profile and click on statistics.
