Bathroom reno
probobly a dumb question but I am now about to replace the floor and toilet and vanity in my upstairs bathroom and I was wondering if I need to get a permit for this work? The floor will be changed from a vinyl to ceramic tiles with a new toilet and Im going to reface the old vanity and install a new countertop and sink.

Unless you are changing the plumbing around, or removing supporting walls, probably not.

Not needed in our jurisdicton either, unless you change the plumbing from A to B, or affect the wall structure, or do any electrical work, then one is, for one's own protection, plus a second opinion. Painting, replacing fixtures, tiling etc are not...
