Basement wall replacent
Hi everyone, one of my basement walls is caving in and it looks really bad. Since I don't have a whole lot of money at the moment I thought may be I could fix it myself to save money. I thought about splitting the wall up into 3 or 4 sections and removing the blocks one section at a time to avoid having to raise up the house. Then move to the next section only after the blocks have been put back. Can anyone tell me if that can be done? Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

Before you go to the effort of replacing the wall you should find out the cause and make sure the same thing does not happen again.

Doing in separate sections will not be as strong as a continuous wall. The wall probably will need some reinforcement.

A professional engineer should be consulted to give you some options for your situation.

You will still need to brace the structure, unless you have done so already. It comes down to the structure being uninhabitable if it is as bad as you are stating it to be. Also, do you not have Homeowner's Insurance? You may be covered.
