Basement Insulation Questions?
I am renovating a 1000 sqft 'dry" basement. I know no basement is dry. And I want to insulate this well. I plan to Thoro-seal all the walls. I have a french drain. I am getting a dehumidifoier.
So I plan to use metal studs. My questions are:
1) what is the best insulation to use (MEPS, XEPs, something else?)
2) Do I install whatever I use between the studs, or if its board insulation on the back of the studs? I cant picture it. I have heard that (NJ) code requires a vapor diffusion retarder. What is that?
3) If I use the vapor retardant insulation and seal the cinderblock, do I still have to put a floor to ceiling plastic sheeting vapor barrier?
I appreciate all responses. As I said I just cannot picture the best method. A good description would be most appreciated.
Comon folks how about some help
I would love to obtain the fruits of yuou knowledge on this issue.
