Any suggestions?

My upstairs bathroom has a dirt smell. I clean it and within a few hours it starts smelling like dirt. Maybe, a musty smell but it just doesn't smell clean. It is the only bathroom that has this odor. Anyone have any suggestions on what might be causing it and or how to possibly get rid of it? Thanks.

It is possible there is mold in the walls, especially behind the tub or shower.

If this is the case, there is not much you can do short of tearing it all out.

How old is the bathroom? If the shower walls are tiled I would see if any of them have any movement or feel mushy, most likely along the bottom and where most of the water hits.
Also check around the base of the toilet. Make sure it is dry, and see if there is any indication the floor feels soft or rotted.
Just a guess here, but mold is your most likely culprit in an older bathroom.

bathrooms = waste pipes & vents.
Look for drips, leaks, gaps, misaligned fittings... and so forth.

They also mean tile... see if any of them have any movement or feel mushy (as blondesense said)

Also check around the base of toilet. If you find nothing you may need to go in the attic and check may have been an old roof leak that was fixed but the moisture was still there and caused the mold.

Normally, "dirt" does not have a smell. Try smelling a rock sometime. Mold, urine, sewer gas and dead things do.

Can you be more specific with the smell?

Even if you are on the right track, you will still get run over if you just sit there.
