Advice Please: Tile on Brick
Hi. I have Talvera tile numbers that I want to attach to my brick exterior for the house address. (Five 3 by 5 rectangles) I am trying to avoid using a frame since the tiles have a nice blue painted edge around them that I don't want to obscure. I figure that I can glue the tiles directly to the brick, grout between them, and clear silicon caulk around them. This might make removal messy which I do not intend to do-- at least for a very long time. I am concerned about adhesion and about temperature fluctuations here in the Mid Atlantic. Tile area would mostly covered by the front door overhang but rain (and snow) would come in from the sides.
Thanks for any advice. Lisa
If you wish to attach them to the brick---I suggest you use 100% silicone caulk as the glue---
Use clear--you may need to rig up a temporary ledger to keep them from sliding until the silicone sets.
