Question

Adding crawlspace vent

For some reason, a crawlspace vent was not installed on the front of my home. As a result, I have a small amount of mold in that area. I plan to install a vent and would like suggestions.
The wall consist of the typical construction of cement block with brick on the exterior.
I plan to remove one of the top cement blocks, just below floor. The big job will be cutting the brick on each side of exterior opening. The bricks are not solid and have holes through them. I know that I can remove the entire brick and replace with cut edge opposite opening and remorter.
Is there a better solution that involves less labor, like maybe a surface mounted vent?

Adding crawlspace vent

Any vent needs the correct size opening. You need to cut through all the masonry to do it.
You might need a small lintel to support the bricks.

Adding crawlspace vent

I just listened to some handyman show on this subject.

Consider getting a small dehumidifier.
