3 sided fireplace top

Hi;
I have a three sided fireplace and want to get rid of the ceramic tiles on the top. Grouting gets dry and cracks and two of the tiles are cracked. What kinds of things have you put on a fireplace like this other than ceramic tiles??

A solid slab of granite or other natural stone looks amazing. I don't know how your fireplace is framed, but if it can hold the extra weight, solid surface is the way to go.
Many times granite companies will have left over slabs that might just be what your looking for.
