2 YO Loses Feet and Hand in Mower Accident
I wasn't sure where to post this but if ever there was an article to remind people about mower safety?

Mowers and little kids can make for a tragic combination. Be attentive if you must mow around children. In the bus we used to wear protective ear coverings but never if little ones were around. Save listening to the tunes too!

I've driven by and see ladys out mowing the lawn with a baby in there lap and a young kid standing on the side of the deck while they were mowing the lawn.
What the heck can they be thinking!!!

Don't most riding mowers disengage the blade as soon as you put it in reverse? Man, I feel terrible for all involved.

In the early 80's I cut grass for a living. One of the section 8 complexs I did had a lot of "unattended" children running loose all over the place. I came real close to getting a few of them. Almost backed over one with a big 6' rider. There was a herd of them chasing behind me and when I went to back up one of them slipped and failed to scatter, almost didn't see him on the ground. I was trimming once and stuck the cutter head under a bush to get a thistle and three kids shot out of there like bunny rabbits.

Some of these people should not have kids.

The blade brake rapidly wears out and people don't bother to fix them, so the blades keep freewheeling for a while.

Any kind of power mower is also a projectile danger. My kids left a pair of scissors in the lawn, I didn't see them until they shot out of my 5HP push mower and smashed into a wood fence with a terrific bang. If the scissors had hit flesh instead of fence, it would have been a real bad day for someone.

No matter how many times I tell them, the *&$% kids keep leaving rocks and crap in the grass. So, no one is allowed within eyesight while I'm mowing.

I saw this follow up story and thought I would pass it on. The little girl is a trooper.

I saw her on the news. What an adorable toddler.

I can't begin to imagine how the adult feels that was on the mower.
