1" XPS, plywood, and flooring with gun safe

good afternoon,

So i have been researching my office space for some time now... Live in ohio zone 5, planning on 2' xps on the walls and 1" on the floor. Then floating plywood subfloor, then finally a to be determined flooring...

My question is this, i am looking at placing a gun safe in my new space and it weighs 500lbs empty and am concerned about the affects on the flooring.... IE the XPS compacting over time resulting in cracks or otherwise dis formed floor. I was debating placing it directly on the slab, but long term if i were to swap the safe out, it would be quite the pain to pick it up by 1 3/4"+.

Am i over thinking this?

Assuming your safe is 30" x 30", that is 900 square inches. Even 900 lbs is only one psi; trivia. Even the lightest XPS you can get, somewhere around 15 psi (5 psi to avoid creeping, ie, deformation) is overkill. If you are concerned, they make XPS up to 100 psi. I'd put plywood under the safe so you don't beat the snot out of the foam wrestling the gun safe in. BTW: EPS (white, "bead board") is cheaper, more Earth-friendly, and has nearly the same R-value. You can get it up to 60 psi.
