Yes, another another ledger board thread...


Sorry to highjack the thread but iam getting ready to build a deck.And was wondering the best way to attach and flash ledger board that is on concrete basement wall.Is it best to use wedge bolts or to go all the way thru the wall?And iam not sure how to flash since there is no siding that low.btw deck is 14'x14'.

Wedge bolts are OK, Through are better but usually not needed.
This is one possible case where spacers between the deck and concrete can be used. spacers can be a washer a just slightly larger nut then another washer. Or you can get ones in some areas made of plastic.
Drill holes through ledger and put treatment in them.
Caulk the holes in the concrete the bolts go through.
