wood to vinyl


How to attach 2x4 to corner of house that has vinyl.Want to attach wooden rails to post at end of steps from house , but don't want to damage the vinyl siding . Would like to know the best way to do this . Thanks

really depends on what is under the siding,you will never get a solid attachment by going through the vinyl,the best advice would be to remove the section of siding,attaching the post then reinstall it

or abandon the idea of attaching to the house and make the post free standing
